The Atlanta Cyclorama is a cylindrical panoramic painting of the American Civil War Battle of Atlanta and was the largest oil painting in the world till 2004 when it was outdone in size by a mural at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. Visitors watch the cylindrical painting from the inside, entering through an entrance in the floor. After being seated, the central cylinder rotates slowly giving a view of the entire painting.
The cyclorama is housed in a museum which was built in 1921 to house the painting and, also called the "Atlanta Cyclorama", in Grant Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Since 1898, Cycloramas painting, The Battle of Atlanta, has told the story of the 1864 conflict through. Music, narration, art and sound effects. This most. stunning exhibition of history is both charming and. touching. The immense, breathtaking painting was completed in 1885, is a fable of a bygone era. A legacy of the 1996 Olympic Games, the 21-acre Atlanta's most famous landmark, CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC PARK is the site of the Fountain of Rings, the world’s largest fountain using the Olympic ring symbol and a court of 23 national flags, and a commemorative, brick pathway. Fountain of Rings features computer controlled lights and water jets synchronized with music played from towers surrounding the fountain and fountain forms a splash of water for children to cool in during summer times. The Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. including holidays, if there is no private event scheduled. There is no charge for general admission to the Park. Situated in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Park is within just walking distance of the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Childrens Museum of Atlanta, Inside CNN Atlanta Studio Tour, National Museum of Patriotism and Underground Atlanta.

This center houses the global headquarters of Turner Broadcasting System, plus the studios and newsrooms for CNNs international networks. Be a part of CNNs Talk Back Live, a daily show originating from the open air forum within the CNN Center. Tickets to the show are free and on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Center also houses a movie theater, large atrium food court, restaurants, bank, post office and specialty, stores, including the Braves Clubhouse Store and The Turner Store. Visitors can sign up for a behind the scenes tour of the global headquarters of CNN & Turner Broadcasting. Tours run continuously and are available in 16 languages. Take the deluxe tour at $ 25 and youll get an up-close-and-personal view of how the news is put together. For an additional fee you can even don a CNN logo jacket, sit behind a simulated CNN News desk and, using a teleprompter, pretend to deliver the news and visitors can keep the videotape of their performance as a news caster. The atrium escalator that is used to carry visitors on the CNN tour has long been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest freestanding escalator in the entire world.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 1929 Moorish and Islamic inspired auditorium hosts a wide range of live performances, a summer movie series and year round tours. This fanciful auditorium, built in 1929 as a combination movie palace and Masonic Hall, is an extravaganza of excesses that must be experienced to be believed. The ceiling of the theater signifies a night under a Bedouin chieftains tent beneath a clear desert sky. The 96 embedded stars that twinkle above are 11-watt bulbs fixed above two inch crystals and third of these crystals flicker. Clouds, rain and other effects to create an open, natural ambiance are produced by special projectors. One of the favorite features is the repeated Arabian arches that span above a more intimate lounge.
The Fox at one time was a venue for the Atlanta performances of the touring Metropolitan Opera, and such operatic greats as Robert Merrill,Luciano Pavarotti, Ezio Pinza, Roberta Peters and Anna Moffo have graced the stage.
