Best of Atlantic Station: Atlantic Station Eat and Drink Guide

Take this guide with you when you go to Atlantic Station and impress your friends with your food knowledge

Atlantic Station is a small live-work-play community located to the northwest of Midtown bordering 17th Street. This bustling area is home to a number of good places to eat, though unfortunately most of them are upscale chain restaurants. In this article, I'll be focusing on some of the unique places to dine in this hip part of town. Plus, I'll give a list of the major chains to round out your dining knowledge.

1.Atlantic Grill:

Classic burgers and diner food await you inside Atlantic Grill's dark, pub-like atmosphere. The owner, Paul Sachetti, has been owning restaurants in Atlanta since 1970 with The Bucket Shop and later the Blue Ribbon Grill. Now he runs one of the better burger houses in Atlanta. All of their burgers are made in house, even their corned beef sandwiches and reubens. The catfish is also done very well, and the portion sizes are nice and large. Yet prices still are at a very reasonable rate for being in such a classy part of town. It's certainly worth a trip.

2.Fishook Grille:

As the title suggests, this is a straight-up fish restaurant. The focus is on South African-style fish preparation and health-consciousness. They keep the menu fairly small to provide a tight focus on the healthiest options, like grilled snapper and tilapia. Sides include items like grilled asparagus, tri-color orzo pasta salad, and sweet potato fries. A few chicken and beef dishes round out the menu, and for a true Southern touch they offer shrimp and grits. This is another afforadble restaurant, with all entrees except a whole chicken costing $10 or less.

3.The Lobby at TWELVE:

The Lobby at TWELVE is located, naturally, within the TWELVE hotel at Atlantic Station. It's a hotel restaurant and bar that has a focus on seasonal ingredients and wood-fired pizzas. The menu is fairly unpretentious for a hotel restaurant, with simple things like grilled chicken sandwiches and pan roasted salmon done very well. Prices are high as expected for a hotel, but oddly enough they like to run a lot of specials. I assume those are more for the locals living in Atlantic Station, but check out their website and you might be able to score a good deal.

Finally, here are a few of the chains that you can find in the area:

The Burger Joint
Kilwin's
California Pizza Company
Moe's Southwestern Grill
Starbucks
Subway
Tin Drum Asia Cafe
Which Wich?
Yard House
Yogli-Mogli Frozen Yogurt

With so many options, Atlantic Station is a good place to stop by for a quick bite on the way to the movies or before going deeper into Midtown to go clubbing. Atlantic Station is very walkable, so it's easy to browse several shops along the way to your dining destination. Take some time and enjoy yourself!
