Best Decor: Top Ten Restaurants in Atlanta with the Best Decor
A great setting complements a great meal. Enjoy the scenery at these atlanta restaurants
June 27, 2012 by Emily Hunter
Food is the centerpiece of any dining experience, but it's
only one part of the puzzle. Without good service, atmosphere, and
decor, a good restaurant won't become an excellent one. In this guide
we'll focus on restaurants with excellent decor. A restaurant with
excellent decor makes you want to stick around and enjoy the food. It
communicates a restaurant's vision almost as much as the food does.
Tastes in restaurant decor can vary quite wildly. Theme
restaurants and dive bars can have more artistic decor than fine dining
restaurants, though I'm sure some of the people of haute culture would
disagree! In this article, I'll tell you about 10 restaurants with some
of the best decor in Atlanta.
Aria Restaurant Inside View
This airy restaurant features a modern Asian theme with
bronze and wood decor. Cream-colored benches and black tables lay
between octagonal columns that support the wood-slat ceiling. Pieces of
Thai art are on display, including a bicycle rickshaw.

Canoe View at night
Canoe sits on the edge of the Chattahoochee river, nestled
against a manicured green-space where you can stroll after dining.
Inside, a combination of wood, stone, and ironwork fill the open space.
Clerestories allow for sunlight to filter in to the main dining area,
while the bar area has fine wood tables under a lower ceiling for
intimacy.

Black and white color palate throughout the establishment
yields an avant-garde contrast to Aria's brightly colored dishes. More
intimate areas are surrounded by black silk paneling, and black
ironwork is featured throughout to divide the dining spaces. The center
space has a magnificent chandelier. The whole effect is to put both the
food and your dining partners at the center stage.

Gleaming hardwood floors and carefully-designed lighting
make this restaurant's decor look very intimate yet exciting.
Earth-tone counters and bars combine with dark chairs and white
table-cloths to create an elegant look. Thick columns nestle in between
the tables to divide the dining space.

Bistro niko bar
This charming French bistro features light-colored hardwood
floors and a very Parisian feel. The ceiling is decorated with swirls
and petaled lights that make it look like a lotus pond is above you.
French art is tastefully places around the dining area to add to the
atmosphere.

Another fine restaurant on the banks of the river, this
seafood restaurant has tall windows to take in the full view. The decor
is a little more traditional than the previous entries, but that's not
surprising with a restaurant that's been in business since 1984. Why
change what's not broke?

Chops
Lobster Bar Decor
One of the finest haute cuisine locations in the city, this
is a good place to take your boss for a business meeting. The decor is
very Art-Deco with lots of exposed brick and angular lights. The
atmosphere breathes importance and power. Several conference rooms with
projectors are available as well. This restaurant fuels the top CEOs of
the Atlanta business world.

TWO Urban Licks, true to its name, offers a very urban vibe
to its interior. The decor is very busy, yet it all fits together to
make their signature Jazz and wine venue one of the hallmarks of
Atlanta cuisine. Look for the large red lampshades hanging down
everywhere.

It's a theme restaurant, but it's the best one in the city.
The theme is pirates! Diners can choose to cross the crocodile-filled
moat that leads to the large ship where you can enjoy your meal. The
whole restaurant has a Age of Sail feel to it. And yet, it also is a
jazz nightclub that serves fondue. I still don't know how it works, but
it works!
Part general store, part short-order diner, Belly General
Store keeps the old early 20th century look far better than any Cracker
Barrel. Long counters with row upon row of cubbyholes behind them are
filled with soda bottles and many other items for sale. Rustic is an
excellent metaphor for this unique locale.
