After moving to Atlanta, I found that one of the Indian restaurants which is been much appreciated for its good Indian cuisine among the Indian crowd was Swapna Restaurant at Cobb Parkway, conveniently located  by 285 and 75 exits. This restaurant serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and some good South Indian food. So we went to the Lunch Buffet one Sunday afternoon, to get a taste of all the varieties of dishes served. Even though we made it by 12 PM, parking was already full on the front, but had pretty good parking space at the back.

The restaurant seemed to have ample space for a decent crowd but cannot be considered to be a big one. At the buffet as the appetizer was Crispy Vada (“Savory Lentil Donuts”) and it tasted just like the authentic one I had back home. It was followed by Puri with Potato curry, Dosa (“Crepes from rice and lentils”), soft yummy idly (Rice and Lentil cake).The Rice section had Coconut rice and the authentic Goat Biriyani which I found to be very delicious.

 I have had many versions of Biriyani from many restaurants, many places, but the Biriyani served here has the authentic flavor and is one of the best that I have had. The curry section had Shahi Paneer, Palak Dal, Chicken Tikka Masala, Spicy Mushroom and Butter Naan to accompany all of them. The Shahi Paneer and Chicken Tikka masala were my favorites and it was deliciously good. Some vegetarian dishes can be spicy, even for people who can tolerate spicy food.

The dessert menu had only watermelon and Mango ice cream  much but the mango ice cream made up to everything. Indian ice creams have a unique taste and the mango ice cream was very delicious. I have also had their Rasmalai (Indian cottage cheese in a creamy sweet sauce) which was so good that I still remember how it tasted.

I would definitely go back for the Biriyani, Shahi paneer masala, Butter Chicken masala, and the mango Ice cream. Mango Lassi is another one favorite that I would not miss the next time I go there. I found the mango Lassi to be a common element in all tables, so I guess this restaurant serves the best kind.

I have had buffet served up from this restaurant from Indian parties and I was always been impressed by the quality and delicious food they make at this place. As far as customer service as concerned it was fairly good. The restaurant lacks the ambience, we expect but it can be considered to be a place to get good Indian cuisine which is moderately priced.

I would definitely recommend this place for my friends and everybody who wants to have some good biriyani, curry and good Indian desserts.
